MVO Pricing Policies
Price Guarantee:
MVO is a boutique business. As such, we are able to offer specialist services at highly competitive rates. We believe corporate specialist hospitals, whilst offering multidisciplinary care, are more expensive. Our model is different. We are able to provide major discounts and compete with any written quote. We will beat any proven estimate you have from a specialist (not an intern, resident-in-training or registrar) from a specialist centre.
Price Protection:
A minority of pet owners actually have active pet insurance when their pet needs expensive surgery. The remainder must pay for surgery out of their own pockets. What can happen after surgery is a complication develops which was not anticipated. It can be frustrating and stressful to discuss and have to pay extra for further care. MVO offers an internal "insurance style" option for our clients to cover the costs of any complications that may develop. There is no excess payable. By paying 10% extra, you will never have to pay more for that procedure. This 'premium' covers the costs of additional drugs, additional rechecks, anaesthesia, further surgery and further x-rays. In simple terms, a fixed price package.
Free Quote:
In many industries, quotes are free of charge. This is not the case in medical circles, where a consultation is conducted before pricing is released. MVO is able to review previous veterinary notes from your local vet or emergency centre and assess any digital x-ray files, before calculating a surgery cost estimate. Please upload relevant history and imaging files such as x-rays by email. At MVO, you do not need to have a consultation to gain an accurate quote for the majority of procedures.
Free Teleconsult:
MVO offer phone or video conference telemedicine whereby our specialist can discuss your pet’s condition in detail. This will be a conversation where both parties can ask questions and listen to learn more from the other party. The limitation of this free service being the vet does not have the opportunity to perform a physical examination of your pet or take x-rays to help make a diagnosis. Please note, in some cases a consultation may be recommended if a diagnosis cannot be made.
Our MVO price protection covers any surgical complications with no excess payable.
Please read our thoughts on pricing under the section Business Philosophy to explain why our fees are significantly under the larger multi-specialist centres. It is important for all owners to be aware that many general practice owners offer advanced surgery and you may be able to beat our price but you are not having a registered specialist small animal surgeon working on your pet. We do not aim to be less expensive than non-specialists.
