Meet The Team
Vet Chris
After graduating from University of Melbourne and working as a general family vet for two years, Chris completed a surgical residency training program at the prestigious University of California, the World’s busiest referral centre. He was awarded a Resident Research Award for investigation of elbow arthritis in dogs using a novel loaded limb model he invented.
Chris became a specialist in both Australia and in the US by examination. He has worked as a private surgeon for over 20 years, training other surgeons and publishing papers in US surgery journals.
In 2024, Chris was awarded the highest accolade possible, being recognised as a Founding Fellow in Joint Surgery by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons after significant contributions in teaching and academic pursuits. He is Australia’s only specialist to have this recognition and one of only 20 in the World. Chris aims to offer reasonable pricing on complex orthopaedic and spinal operations.
Nurse Skye
Skye is a country girl from Swan Hill who loves all things animals. She worked at Pet Emergency & Specialist Centre for three years as a surgical nurse doing anaesthesia, patient preparation, instrument sterilisation and ward nursing.
Skye owns a Great Dane / Mastiff cross who weighs 80kg! She is the surgical nurse coordinator at MVO and enjoys helping clients after hours giving them support and advice.
Skye recently attended the 2024 American College of Veterinary Surgeons annual surgery conference in Phoenix, Arizona where she was exposed to streams of anaesthesia and surgery as well as an enormous trade display of the latest equipment used today.
Skye supports the emergency surgical component of MVO by being on call for urgent trauma and spinal patients.
Nurse Tracey
Tracey has extensive real-life experience she brings to MVO in her role as a senior nurse assisting with anaesthesia and instrumentation as well as protocols and client liaison. Tracey is a city girl but has certainly seen the World and can relate to MVO clientele. She was a policewoman, tour guide in Cambodia and chef before turning her hand to veterinary nursing.
Tracey most recently worked at Westernport Vet Clinic in Hastings as a senior surgical nurse supported by 24 other nurses! That was a busy role with 18 vets. Her goal is to become involved with a boutique service and upskill in high end orthopaedics.
Tracey has two dogs and enjoys reading, bushwalking and the arts. Tracey assists with the client experience at MVO and is a wealth of knowledge on all things "pet logistics".
